Project Engineer, Compliance

Position Summary The ideal candidate will have a broad base of knowledge that includes certifying electronics products with microprocessors, communications busses and radios. The Compliance Engineer serves a critical function within our Product Development community. This person will be responsible for supporting product safety and regulatory compliance for Neptune products. This role helps develop, implement and maintain regulatory compliance requirements and guidance for all company products. Objectives Develops product compliance plans by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying compliance engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria. Manages the compliance program by determining timetables, cost estimates, and required resources including test laboratories and equipment. Acts as primary liaison between project teams, testing agencies, certification organizations and regulatory bodies to achieve and maintain regulatory compliance. Determines compliance by identifying applicable test standards; conducting and witnessing tests; assisting diagnostic procedures; measuring performance; analyzing and evaluating findings; and isolating and resolving non-compliance issues. Prepares compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing measurement data and trends. Organizes and manages renewals of all product certifications and insures that they are up to date. Develops and maintains a detailed understanding of pertinent Standards and Regulations in all assigned compliance areas and participates in the development of industry standards as required. Mentors other Engineers and Technicians and provides guidance and procedures to ensure consistency with applicable regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices. Qualifications Experience in managing or leading the regulatory compliance program of a company. Experience in taking a design through Compliance and Standards testing and certification. Knowledge in compliance areas including standards, requirements and solutions such as; FCC, IC and NOM RF standards, UL, CSA. Knowledge in wireless technologies preferred. Strong technical background along with a desire to learn new technologies. Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills. Requirements Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree. Experience: Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience, 3 years in a compliance engineering role. Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% Specific skills and experience in addition to those listed above may be required for specific positions. Location: Duluth, Georgia or Tallassee, Alabama. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
