The Assistant Controller manages theaccounting and controls requirements for the Alabama site along with sharedservices accounting and controls for 4 additional sites. Thisposition is a key member of the finance team and plays an active role inmaintaining accurate books and records including general ledger, fixed assets,labor reporting, compliance with IFRS and Government Accounting rules, andinterface with internal and external auditors and Government Accountingauditing groups including DCMA disclosure statement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure books are closed on time and accurately each month
Maintain monthly GRiP (internal compliance) books with documented evidence of completion of all items
Document and maintain monthly account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
Maintain fixed asset register for all assets
Maintains systems and records for accurate reporting and recording of financial information.
Documents physical inventory process to ensure process is comprehensive from a financial perspective
Establish and maintain internal accounting controls to verify the accuracy in computations, proper support in classification and recording of all transactions.
Reviews transactions for appropriate segregation of duties
Provide accounting policy interpretation and guidance to the accounting teams. Includes the preparation of accounting position papers.
Control the general ledger to ensure that all invoices, cash receipts, invoice adjustments and general ledger transactions are properly documented and recorded and that all transactions are recorded in the proper systems.
Ensure Disclosure Statement accurately reflects accounting practices and ensures compliance with Disclosure Statement.
Supports Internal Audit, external audit, DCAA, DCMA, GRiP reviews, and balance sheet reviews for all applicable sites.
Ensure finance compliance with GKN Aerospace local policies and procedures as well as those of GKN plc, IFRS, and other applicable guidelines.
Provide key decision makers support and analysis to make informed decision.
Responsible for tax packages and other tax reporting requirements.
Perform other duties as required.
About you
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
3 years of experience in accounting or controllership
1 year of Manufacturing experience
Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
PreferredQualifications:
GKN Experience
Business acumen and understanding of business operations
Strong communication & interpersonal skills
Unquestioned business ethics, honesty, and integrity
Capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines
CPA preferred
Excellent PC skills in Windows Suite
Prefer candidates with Government Accounting experience
Strong organizational skills and process adherence skills

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
