Manager, International Trade Compliance - Tallassee, AL

The Manager, International Trade Compliance will be responsible for import and export activities and procedures that ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulatory regimes as applicable to the move of goods internationally. Position will oversee import/export activities across multiple sites in the US.
Develop, deploy and manage through assigned Business Units all applicable compliance processes and procedures in conjunction with various other functions and external resources.
Establish formal engagement and provide leadership to deploy trade standards across the division and sites assigned.
Evaluate compliance status with various regulatory bodies including but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms (ITAR); Export Administration Regulations (EAR); Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR); Customs and Border Protection (CBP); and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
Manage site(s) import compliance program: periodic import site assessments/audits, review imports and ensure compliance with pre and post entry activities, audit customs entry packages to ensure compliance and accuracy, answer to CBP requests associated with CF28, CF29, protests,, refunds, and drawback. Support compliance of jurisdiction and compliance of products (USML, CCL, Schedule B/HTS/Country of Origin)
Supports the administration and implementation of Trade Compliance processes
Assigns Harmonized System (HS) tariff codes, and regional trade-related-codes to primary and secondary products imported in the normal course of business; escalates more complex HS classifications
Reviews for accuracy and completeness:1) the trade data keyed and submitted to the Government by outside service providers and 2) the Customs brokers billing invoices.
Leads management of service providers (e.g., Customs brokers, freight forwarders), including responding to requests for information and bringing forward to reporting manager issues of non-compliance with standard operating procedures.
Maintains and analyzes a broad set of trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements and GKN initiatives to ensure legal compliance.
Creates and analyzes trade compliance data using spreadsheets and other database tools to support business goals and initiatives.
Address more complex trade compliance issues as applicable to Customs valuation, duty saving programs, prior disclosures, internal/external audits, etc.
May supervise International Trade Compliance Officer(s)
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.

About you
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in business administration, science, International Business, engineering or related field OR in lieu of degree, at least 12 years of experience with U.S. Government export control laws, regulations and policies
5+ years of previous experience working with U.S. Government export control laws, regulations and policies, specifically ITAR, EAR and Customs, including some experience in researching, interpreting and applying government regulations to Company business processes and activities.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and influencing capabilities.
5+ years of experience using MS Excel and MS Word
US citizenship or evidence of authorization to work in the US for any employer for an indefinite amount of time.
Additional Qualifications:
Certified United States Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO) certification or equivalent experience as determined by the Regional Export Compliance Manager
Manufacturing industry trade compliance experience.
Knowledge or working familiarity with "maquiladora/IMEX" operations a plus
Excellent MS Excel skills.
US Customs Broker license a plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
